Update 15: Good riddance to bad rubbish Part IV – The darkness is lifted… a new day has dawned

At last night’s — 9 January 2023 — Extraordinary General Meeting an attempt by the Briars-led, self-discredited, band of resigned directors to get their tainted, grubby little paws back on the levers of power was rejected by the membership.

The membership, instead, chose to vote into office — as their committee and directors — The Group of concerned members as detailed below:

Tim Garratt as Chairman
Shaun Walsh as Honorary Treasurer
James Dand as Honorary Secretary
Rob Bailey as Premises Director
Russell Foster as Committee Member
Mathew Dunn as Committee Member
Richard Burton as Committee Member”

That the vote was so close demonstrated the effectiveness of the former Chairman Gawain Briars’ strategy of ridding the club of dissenting voices by any means possible thereby increasing the proportion of his supporters amongst the membership.

Those means included the illegal expulsion and arbitrary exclusion of dissenting members in addition to creating a toxic, miserable, dark and unwelcoming atmosphere within the club guaranteed to drive away many impartial, right minded members who would have rejected the Briars Crew’s re-election.

In our last update we stated our view that “Surely only the ignorant, uninformed, the uninterested and the frankly stupid would wish to vote for more of the same from the Briars Crew.”

That fifty members did so speaks volumes.
